Some places just get under your skin. Uki Mountain Bike Park is one of them.
Tucked into the lush Tweed Valley with Wollumbin (Mount Warning) rising in the background, this Northern NSW gem has quietly become one of Australia’s most loved mountain bike destinations. We first rolled into Uki during a Yakima product shoot in 2025 (watch here) and have been back plenty of times since. The trails, the scenery and the town itself make it the kind of place you keep finding excuses to return to.
It’s relaxed, it’s welcoming and it delivers seriously good riding.
Small but packed with great trails

Uki Mountain Bike Park in Northern NSW might be compact, but it’s packed with personality and seriously good flow. The purpose-built network covers about 6.4 km of trail, with eight fun tracks ranging from green and blue lines through to a playful black diamond run - ideal for rolling laps and keeping things social with your crew.
There’s also a pump track and skills area, which makes Uki brilliant for families and newer riders. You can warm up, build confidence and then roll straight into the main trail network once you’re feeling dialled.
What really stands out is how approachable it feels. It’s just as easy to enjoy a cruisy ride with kids as it is to stack fast, grin-inducing laps on the blues.
Riding with a view

The setting is part of the magic. The trails weave through open forest with Wollumbin (Mt Warning) towering above you, creating a backdrop that makes every ride feel special. It’s the kind of place where you stop, not because you’re tired, but because the view demands it.
What makes Uki even better is the crew behind it. The trails are built and maintained by the passionate volunteers at Tweed Valley Mountain Bike Riders, who’ve poured countless hours into shaping, fixing and caring for this place. It’s their work that keeps the park riding so well and feeling so welcoming, and it’s a big part of why people keep coming back.
If you’re looking for a local club to connect with, be sure to give them a follow, reach out, or get involved. You can find them on Instagram at @tvmtbr, and they’re always keen to welcome new faces.
The park is free to ride and open from dawn to dusk, which makes it perfect for everything from a quick morning session to a full weekend of riding.
Respect the trails
Uki’s trails are built on clay soils, so they ride best when dry. If it’s been raining, give them a chance to firm up before heading out. A little patience helps keep the trails running sweet and means everyone gets to enjoy them at their best. Trust us… that clay sticks! (As we shot, it started to rain).

Make a weekend of it in Uki
One of the best things about Uki is that the riding is only half the story.
After a few laps, roll down into the village and grab lunch - the local Uki Pub (Mt Warning Hotel Uki) is a quintessential country local with great food, cold drinks and a relaxed vibe.
If you’re travelling with kids, or just want to turn the trip into a proper escape, Hosanna Farmstay is a standout. Friendly farm animals, wide open space to explore and plenty of country charm make it one of those places that instantly feels like a holiday. On weekends, they even have a band and fire up the wood-fired pizza oven - which honestly feels like the ultimate post-ride treat.

And if you do stay a night or two, there’s more to explore. The Northern Rivers Rail Trail is a beautifully scenic, multi-use route that stretches over long distances (with the current Tweed section around 23 km of open trail through villages like Burringbar and Mooball), perfect for a relaxed pedal the day after hitting the dirt.

Load up. Leave the city. Weekend sorted.
One of the things we love about Uki is how easy it is to turn it into a spontaneous weekend away. Throw the bikes on a Yakima bike rack, Roof top tent up top and gear in the back.
Friday afternoon you’re rolling out of town, pointing the car south (if in Brissy like us) and pulling into Hosanna Farmstay just in time to pop the tent, stretch the legs and settle in for a night by the camp fire.
Saturday is all about lapping the MTB park - chasing flow, stacking smiles and soaking up those Wollumbin and Mt Warning views. Topped off by a burger and cheeky brewski at the Uki Hotel.
Sunday slows things down with a cruisy rail trail ride and a relaxed lunch in the village before heading home with tired legs and big grins.
Just a great little destination
Whether you’re coming from Brisbane (just under 2 hours’ drive), the Gold Coast (1 hour) or up from Byron Bay (45 mins), Uki sits perfectly for a quick weekend escape without the hassle of long travel.
That’s what makes places like Uki so special. Great trails, a cute little town and just enough adventure to feel like you’ve properly escaped, all without having to go far. We’ve been back, and once you ride it, we reckon you will be too.
